Training logistics

Training is offered online or in a hybrid format. You will be provided with training materials 14 days before your scheduled training to allow you to prepare for your training. Please alert us if this has not happened and we will address the issue as quickly as possible. Training venues for in person training are decided upon for their ease of access and facilities that they provide. If you have specific access requirements please contact us with your specific requests and we will endeavour to meet these where possible.

What to bring
6
You will receive your training manual , slide presentation PDFs and worksheets 14 days prior to training. You can opt to have your manual and or presentation slides printed at OfficeWorks or similar and have it bound or keep it electronic if you wish to work from it off your tablet/laptop on the training days. Please DO print off your worksheets, it makes it much easier to work with during your practicums.
Pens and highlighters (if working from printed materials) always make learning easier.
For in person attendance, there will be tea and coffee stations and lunch will be provided - unless otherwise stated.
Make sure you are equipped with water or drink of choice to stay hydrated.
How to prepare
7
Your training materials will include pre-reading links for articles and videos to watch, please follow up on these so that you are prepared for Day 1 and beyond.
You will be asked to bring a personal issue to work on as an example during the training. Please do not treat this as personal therapy time, do pick a small issue to work on, something that does not have a SUD value of more than 4 out of 10. This will make for easier learning during the practicum for both yourself and your “therapist” colleague.
